Sharon Sturges, Esq., M.P.A., is the Director, Colorado Office of Dispute Resolution, Colorado State Court Administrator's Office. Ms. Sturges' passion is to empower people to resolve disputes in a way they understand. While living in Alaska prior to her family's move to Colorado in 1998, Ms. Sturges served as the executive director for a community mediation center in Anchorage, where she focused on restorative justice practices and community mediation.  Prior to working at the State Court Administrator's Office, she provided resolution services for clients for 25 years in her roles as a litigator, mediator, and an independent hearing officer for school expulsion appeals. In 2014, Ms. Sturges completed her master's degree in public administration at the University of Colorado, Denver. Ms. Sturges current passion is court modernization by encouraging online dispute resolution adoption in court services. She has presented on the court perspective regarding online dispute resolution tools at national and international forums. She has published on the benefits and drawbacks of distance-delivered mediation services as well as visual tools for group decision-making.
