W. Eric . Kuhn

Judge Kuhn was appointed to the Colorado Court of Appeals in 2021. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he served for over a decade at the Colorado Department of Law as a senior assistant attorney general in the Health Care Unit and the Public Officials Unit. In those roles he represented government clients, handling all aspects of advice, litigation, and appeals. His practice focused on healthcare, public health, and the complex constitutional and legal questions faced by elected officials and government agencies. Before joining the Attorney General's Office, Judge Kuhn was in private practice, focusing on probate and trust law.
Judge Kuhn is the co-chair of the Appellate Court's Technology Committee, an active member of the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court, and a trustee for a national foundation focused on innovations in aging.
Judge Kuhn received his Juris Doctor (Order of St. Ives) from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction, majoring in biology, from Colorado College.
