Julie A. Yakes, Esq., manages Insurance Compliance at the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation, overseeing workers' compensation coverage and self-insurance requirements for Colorado employers. In addition, she oversees the Division’s Special Funds program and is on the staff of the Colorado Uninsured Employer Fund. Prior to joining the Division, Julie was the staff attorney for the Industrial Claim Appeals Panel assisting with the adjudication of workers’ compensation and unemployment appellate cases. She also has research experience in environmental justice and public lands law. Julie received her B.S. in Anthropology from Michigan State University and her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.
