Honorable Natalie T. Chase has been a District Court Judge in the 18th Judicial District since July 2014.  Judge Chase is 2003 graduate of University of Denver Law School and is licensed in Colorado and the District of Colorado.  She began her judicial career in July 2013 by serving as a part-time judge for the City of Glendale, Colorado hearing municipal court matters.  She is currently handling a 100% domestic docket in Douglas County.  Prior to her current assignment, Judge Chase owned a private law firm, Shafer & Chase, LLC which specialized in criminal law, family law, and estate planning. Subsequent to owning her own law firm, Judge Chase was special counsel to Tom A. Hemry and was a prosecutor for the City of Aurora.  Judge Chase has been actively involved in her community.  In 2011 Judge Chase co-founded the Veteran's Treatment Court for the 18th Judicial District.  In addition, Judge Chase is the current Vice President of the Arapahoe County Bar Association and is a Board of Governors Representative for the Colorado Bar Association.  Judge Chase started the Access to Justice Committee for the 18th Judicial District in 2010.  2013 presented her with an opportunity to organize, plan, and conduct a Congressional Hearing for the 18th Judicial District Access to Justice Program in a statewide effort to receive more funding for pro se litigants.  Through that effort, Colorado Legal Services received an additional $1 million dollars in funding.  Prior to taking the bench, Judge Chase was a committee member of the Arapahoe County Justice Coordinating Committee, board of director for Frontier Valley Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, and a family support group coordinator for a unit in the Colorado National Guard, among many other professional activities.
