Kristin Petri is an experienced immigration attorney. She consults with immigration, family, and criminal law attorneys about immigration status protections for survivors of persecution, domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes. Previously, Ms. Petri spent five years working with highly regarded immigration law firms and eight years as the managing attorney of the Children's Program at the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN). In that capacity, she represented hundreds of non-citizen indigent youth throughout Colorado who suffered persecution, abuse, abandonment, neglect, family violence, forced labor, or violent crime. Ms. Petri helped found RMIAN's Children's Program in 2005 with an Equal Justice Works Fellowship.
 
Ms. Petri frequently presents on immigration issues unique to youth. She has presented on this topic at annual convenings of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the National Center for School Engagement, the National Association of Counsel for Children, and the National Resource Center for Youth Services. Ms. Petri is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Immigrant Children's Lawyers Network (ICLN), and the National Immigration Project (NIP). She also sat on the steering committees for the Colorado Network to End Human Trafficking (CoNEHT) and Ya Es Hora pro bono citizenship clinic campaign in Colorado. Ms. Petri earned her J.D. in 2004 from the University of Colorado and her B.A., cum laude, in 1998 from Kenyon College. She is a member of Phi Beta Kapa and Sigma Iota Rho honorary societies. She is licensed to practice law in Colorado.
