Nathan S. Merrill is an associate at Messner & Reeves, LLC in Denver. Mr. Merrill joined Messner & Reeves in 2003. Mr. Merrill’s practice focuses primarily on corporate, real estate, and individual matters. He advises individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses on the many challenges they face, including choice of business entity and formation issues, the growth process, financing, general business matters, shareholder disputes, and business transactions such as asset and stock acquisitions and divestitures, and mergers. Mr. Merrill uses his background in taxation to achieve the best outcome for clients, attending to each client’s unique characteristics, goals, and objectives. Mr. Merrill also heads Messner & Reeves’s Individual Practice Group, specifically the areas of tax and estate planning. Mr. Merrill has counseled several local private real estate funds and developers regarding the various aspects of structuring real estate holdings and financing real property, including private placements.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Merrill worked as an attorney at Blumenfeld, Kaplan & Sandweiss in St. Louis, where his practice primarily focused on estate planning, corporate, and tax issues. Mr. Merrill obtained his LL.M. in taxation from the University of Denver in 2003 and his law degree from Washington University School of Law, located in St. Louis, in 2001, where he was also elected to the Order of Barristers. Mr. Merrill obtained his undergraduate degrees in communications and political science in 1997 from the University of Utah.
