Erika L. Holmes
ELHolmes Legal Solutions, LLCErika Holmes, Esq., is the founder of ELHolmes Legal Solutions, LLC - a modern law practice focusing on family law, attorney ethics and regulation, and succession planning. Erika earned her undergraduate degree from Alma College in Michigan and her law degree from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Erika's legal career began at the Denver District Court where she served as a law clerk and a pro se case manager. While working at the district court, Erika also worked at the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, assisting the trial division and inventory counsel. Erika is a co-chair of the Colorado & Denver Bar Associations Professionalism Coordination Council, a past chair of the CBA's Ethics Committee, the inaugural chair of the CBA's Modern Law Practice Initiative, an appointed member of the Colorado Supreme Court Standing Committee on the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct, and a past chair of the Colorado Women's Bar Association's Legal Services Committee. Erika is a volunteer attorney for Colorado Legal Services' virtual clinics, a contract attorney for Project Safeguard, and a volunteer mediator for Metro Volunteer Lawyers. She authored the article “Modern Representation: A Win-Win for Clients and Lawyers” (Colorado Lawyer March 2017) and co-authored the article “The Modern Lawyer Movement: How a Growing Number of Colorado Lawyers Are Changing the Practice of Law” (Colorado Lawyer December 2019). Erika had a blast co-hosting 18 episodes of the CBA's Modern Law Revolution podcast from January 2020 until June 2021. Most recently, Erika launched the Modern Law University, LLC to teach lawyers how to create modern law practices, including offering a “master's degree” course for participants in Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice, Colorado's modern law incubator program.
