Julia Stancil is a partner at Stimson Stancil Labranche Hubbard LLC, a law firm in Denver specializing in criminal defense and civil rights litigation. Nearly all of Ms. Stancil’s legal background has involved courtroom litigation. She began her career at the Colorado State Public Defender, practicing first in Boulder and then in the Denver trial office.
Ms. Stancil has tried over 70 cases to verdict and has handled thousands. She has achieved acquittals from juries on the most serious charges and successfully litigated many constitutional suppression motions. She has been lead defense counsel for a full range of felonies, including first degree murder, sexual assault, economic crimes, internet sex crimes, aggravated robbery, and child abuse cases. In addition to her successful advocacy in the courtroom, she has achieved excellent results for clients through negotiation and preparing extensive sentencing mitigation.
