Susan P. Klopman
H&K Law, LLCSusan P. Klopman is a partner in the litigation and employment law boutique firm H&K Law, LLC, which she co-founded in 2014. H&K Law was listed in U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Law Firms in Colorado” in 2016. Prior to opening H&K Law, she was a partner at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, P.C. Susan provides high-touch, customized representation to employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies in all facets of employment law. She enjoys finding creative business and legal solutions for her clients, who include select executives and high-level managers. Susan also counsels and litigates on matters related to the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, the Colorado Wage Act, the drug and alcohol testing regulations, and trade secret and non-compete law, among others.
Susan has been active in bar associations and served as co-chair of the Pledge to Diversity, board member of CLI, and president of the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation (COLTAF) in 2014-2015. In addition to authoring several articles on various areas of employment law, she has been a speaker/trainer on topics ranging from association claims under Title VII/ADA, physical threats in the workplace, to performance management and exit strategies. She wrote “Gender Still Matters: A Primer on Gender Discrimination Law” for The Colorado Lawyer in October 2012. Susan has been recognized as a Colorado Rising Star® for 2010, and as a 2017 and 2018 Top Lawyer in 5280 Magazine. Ms. Klopman received her A.B. from Mount Holyoke College, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of St. Ives.
