Kristen S. Carney, Esq., is an assistant general counsel at Xcel Energy, where her practice focuses on a wide range of environmental and natural resource matters, including RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, MBTA, and ESA matters. Ms. Carney has a Bachelor of Science from Washington University in St. Louis, and a juris doctor from Georgetown University, where she was a member of the Law Review. She is an Advisory Council Board member for the Colorado Bar Association Environmental Law Section, a founding member of the Denver Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association, the former president of the Colorado Hazardous Waste Management Society (now CEMS), and the former firm director for the Metro Volunteer Lawyers/Faegre & Benson Post Decree Clinic in Denver and Boulder.
