Shari D. Caton is a founding member of the law firm of Poskus, Caton & Klein, P.C. and a frequent speaker on elder law and probate issues. She currently serves as a member of the Colorado Supreme Court Probate Rules Committee and as co-managing editor of Elder Law in Colorado and has authored several chapters. Ms. Caton previously served as chair of the Colorado Office of Public Guardianship Commission, co-chair of the Executive Council of the CBA Elder Law Section, and a member of numerous Elder Law Section committees. She graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1998. Prior to law school, Ms. Caton graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Wesleyan with a B.A. in justice and public policy and a minor in psychology. She practices in the areas of estate litigation, estate planning, public benefits, probate, wills and trusts, and guardianships and conservatorships. She is a current member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the American, Colorado, New Mexico, and Douglas-Elbert bar associations.
