Dianne A. Van Voorhees, Esq., advocates for people with domestic relations matters associated with divorce and custody, foster parenting, adoption, grandparents' rights, and other domestic relations matters. She has practiced law for over 17 years and has appeared in courts throughout the Denver Metro Area, La Plata County, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the federal Bankruptcy and Immigration Courts. In her capacity as an attorney and as a former municipal court judge, she has witnessed lawyers, clients, and pro se litigants maneuvering and searching for resources to address the multitude of intersecting legal issues that often accompany domestic relations matters. Dianne is deeply committed to the constant betterment of the legal system as well as the legal profession. She is the Chair of the 1st Judicial District's Access to Justice (ATJ) Committee and the immediate past Chair of the 17th JD ATJ Committee. And as part of her volunteer duties on the Sean May Memorial Run Walk Committee, she maintains and updates the event's website and social media profiles. She also serves on the Colorado Supreme Court's Lawyer Well-Being Taskforce and as a mentor for both CAMP and Judge Arguello's program for supporting prospective lawyers: Law School, Yes we Can (Si, Se Puede). She is a recipient, along with other dedicated 17th Judicial District ATJ committee members, of the Adams Broomfield Bar Association's 2012 Citizen of the Year Award. She has also been honored with the Denver Indian Center, Inc.'s Local Community Impact Award and with the Denver American Indian Commission Mayor's Diversity Award. In addition to practicing law, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College and volunteers with Mother Gaia Animal Rescue and with Extreme Community Makeover. And, of course she enjoys volunteering to provide legal assistance and procedural advice at legal clinics and through organizations such as Metro Volunteer Lawyers, the Colorado Women's Bar Association, Rocky Mountain Immigration Advocacy Network, LawLine9, and Project Safeguard.
