Adam L. Scoville

Adam Scoville leads the Legal Department of experienced attorneys and professionals whose mission is to deliver top quality, creative, informed and user-friendly legal services to RE/MAX, LLC, the franchisor of real estate brokerage operations with over 6,000 franchised offices and over 100,000 sales associates, in nearly 100 countries. Before becoming General Counsel, Adam led the team charged with trademark litigation and brand protection, advertising and claims substantiation, and other intellectual property issues for RE/MAX in the United States, around the world and online. Adam received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Yale University after having also studied English at Christ's College at the University of Cambridge. He received his Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Boston College Law School. A native of Vermont, Adam came to Colorado for its mountains and a judicial clerkship with Colorado Supreme Court Justice Michael L. Bender. He worked for the Denver office of a national law firm practicing trademark, copyright and media litigation, with a specialization in the then-emerging field of cybersquatting, phishing and other Internet fraud prevention. Adam is active in the leadership of the International Trademark Association (INTA), having served on its Board of Directors and as Chair of its 200-member Internet Committee (and previously committee Vice Chair and Whois Subcommittee Chair). Adam received INTA's 2009 Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Trademark Law. Adam co-chaired INTA's 201 “Internet, Innovation, and ICANN” conference, and he is currently a member of INTA's Presidential Task Force on Committee Structure and Participation and the U.S. Amicus Subcommittee.
