Larry Carlile, Esq., a partner in Kutak Rock LLP's Denver office, concentrates his practice in the application of Internal Revenue Code Sections 103, 141-150, 54A, as well as many other Code sections, to the issuances of tax-advantaged bonds by states and their political subdivisions.  Mr. Carlile has many years' experience in computer-based financial analysis and the legal structuring of numerous types of public financings, including special district financings; charter school and higher education financings; airport financings; major infrastructure project financings (including P3 financings); water, wastewater, electric and gas municipal utility financings; single-family and multifamily housing financings; hospital and other healthcare facility financings; industrial development and pollution control financings; equipment, state revolving fund and other asset pool financings; and a wide variety of other municipal facilities financings for infrastructure such as roads, public and private K-12 schools and governmental buildings and for refundings.  He provides tax advice in connection with the firm's engagements as bond and special tax counsel in all states, particularly in Colorado, as well as providing representation for state and local government clients in audit and voluntary compliance program matters before the Internal Revenue Service.  He has been an active participant in numerous national seminars and lecture programs in public finance and tax.  Mr. Carlile is a member of the American Bar Association's section on taxation of municipal obligations and of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.  He received a B.S. degree, with highest honors, from the University of Kansas in 1970 and a J.D. in 1975 from the University of Chicago.  He joined the firm in 1975 and is admitted to practice in Colorado.
