John A. Cimino, Esq., attended the University at Albany, New York, earning a Bachelor's and Master's degree in education in 1974 and 1974, and law school at Gonzaga School of Law where he was an editor on the Law Review. He later attended the University of Denver School of Law Graduate Tax Program, where he obtained his Masters of Taxation Law (LLM) in 1982. For a brief period, he worked as a tax attorney for the now reorganized firm of Touche Ross, where he defended taxpayers. Although he is licensed in New York, Washington and Colorado, he has primarily practiced law in Colorado since the early 1980s. He served as a Chapter 7 trustee for the District of Colorado, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, from 1989 until 2001. As a trustee and consumer debtor's counsel, he has reviewed and administered thousands of bankruptcy cases. In one case, he collected close to $4 million from a business debtor who was attempting to hide assets in a family trust, a record recovery that still stands today. Mr. Cimino is an experienced and dedicated consumer trial lawyer who has spent his entire career successfully helping consumer debtors achieve a fresh start legally using the bankruptcy code.
