Mark E. Hamilton
Holland & Hart LLPMark E. Hamilton, Esq., received a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1991 and a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1994. While in law school, Mark served as a staff editor for the University of Colorado Law Review. Mark is now a director and shareholder of Caloia, Houpt & Hamilton, P.C. in Glenwood Springs and serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Carbondale. Mark also represents a variety of other towns, counties, water conservancy districts, landowners and homeowners associations on Colorado's Western Slope in matters concerning water rights and water quality, local government and municipal law, real estate and land use planning. Mark's publications include “The Can and Will Doctrine of Colorado Revised Statute Section 37-92-305(9)(b): Changing the Nature of Conditional Water Rights in Colorado,” 65 Univ. of Colorado Law Review 947 (1994) and “The Water Rights Determination and Administration Act of 1969: A Western Slope Perspective on the First Thirty Years,” 3 Univ. of Denver Water Law Review 39 (1999). He has been an officer of the Water Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association since 2002. Mark lives in Carbondale with his wife, Kim, and his two sons, Rex and Jack.
