The Honorable Dana Nichols was appointed to the Weld County Court bench in August 2007. She served as a state public defender for more than 10 years in Greeley, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and the appellate division. She also practiced civil litigation for three years in Denver as an associate with Kennedy & Christopher. She received her J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1994 and a B.S. in biology from Colorado State University in 1991. She is a past president of the County Court Judges Association. Judge Nichols currently handles a mixed docket of traffic, misdemeanors, domestic violence cases, and civil matters.
