Bernard A. Poskus

Bernard A. Poskus received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1974, and his J.D. from the University of Akron in 1978. He practiced law as a Legal Aid attorney with various legal services programs in Illinois and Colorado from 1978 through 1989. Since 1989, Mr. Poskus has been engaged in the private practice of law, emphasizing legal problems of the elderly and disabled. He has also written extensively on topics of interest to the elderly and disabled and is a frequent lecturer on these issues.
 
Mr. Poskus is licensed to practice in Colorado and is on inactive status in Illinois. He currently is practicing with the firm of Poskus, Caton & Klein, P.C. in Denver.  
 
Mr. Poskus is also the author of the “Representing the Diminished-Capacity or Mentally Ill Client: Colo. RPC 1.14” chapter in CBA-CLE’s Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Domestic Relations Law.
