Office of Legislative Legal ServiceChristy Chase, Esq., received her B.S. in history with a minor in English from Louisiana State University. She received her J.D. in 1995 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at L.S.U. and spent a year practicing employment discrimination and civil rights law in Shreveport, LA. In 1997, she entered the public sector, joining the LA Senate staff as an attorney for the Environmental Quality Committee, where she staffed the committee and drafted legislation, primarily in the area of environmental law. In 1999, she and her husband relocated to Colorado, at which time she joined the Office of Legislative Legal Services with the Colorado General Assembly. She spent 5 years on the Government Team, drafting legislation in the areas of taxation, state and local government, and school finance before moving to the Business Team, where she currently serves as the Team Leader and drafts legislation in the areas of regulated business and industry, such as insurance and alcohol beverage businesses, as well as regulated professions and occupations, health care, insurance, labor and employment, and employment discrimination law.
