Mike Shea graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1980. He has been licensed in Colorado since 1981. He was a sole practitioner in Centennial, Colorado from September 2010 to January 2018. He recently retired as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, teaching veterans' law in the Veterans Advocacy Project. Prior to private practice and teaching, Make was a director in the Colorado Secretary of State's Office for 22 years, where he supervised staff in the Business Division and the Licensing and Enforcement Division. Mike spent eight years with the U.S. Marine Corps, with one combat tour in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and 20 years with the Colorado Army National Guard with two tours in Iraq as a medevac pilot. Mike is the author of “Understanding the Legal Needs of Veterans, Active Duty Military, and Reservists,” a chapter in Navigating Legal Issues for Military Vetarans (Aspatore Books, Inside the Minds series, 2013).
