Stephen M. “Pete” Peterson, CPA is the CEO of the advisory firm Maxfield Peterson. Prior to founding Maxfield Peterson he was the Chief Operating Officer for the law firm consultancy, Hildebrandt International. Pete was also an executive for two large law firms in Minneapolis and Denver. He has been engaged in the legal services sector for over 30 years. He counsels firms on strategic planning, firm governance, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, compensation, business and administrative operations, and profitability improvement. Pete was also an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Legal Administration program at the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver. He has taught in the Essential Competencies for Legal Administrators offered by the Association of Legal Administrators. Pete is also on the Board of Editors for the publication, Accounting and Financial Planning for Law Firms and is a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management. Pete is a frequent speaker at educational and legal related conferences and seminars every year.
