L. Barton Goldman, MD, Recruited by Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital in 1987, Dr. Goldman helped develop and medically direct what at the time was known as the Swedish-Spalding Spine Institute (now know as the HealthONE Englewood Bronco Sports Medicine program)- one of the first non-surgically oriented interdisciplinary back rehabilitation programs in the United States. Since that time, Dr. Goldman has gone on to medically direct first the occupational medicine and outpatient rehabilitation clinics for Health ONE (1996 -2000), and then from 2000 till 2003, all of the HealthONE managed primary care, rehabilitation and specialty clinics. A founding member of Rehabilitation Associates of Colorado and the organization's first president, Dr. Goldman rejoined his colleagues in the practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation since 2003 at the above address. Dr. Goldman has served as chairperson of the Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation Medical Care Advisory Committee since it's inception in 1991 (then known as the Medical Care Accreditation Commission) till it's sunset, was the chair of the Low Back Pain Treatment Guidelines Task Force from 1989 till 1998 and most recently 2013 and  served on the most 2006 low back and cervical treatment guidelines committee, as well as the most recent CRPS and Chronic Pain task forces. He is an assistant editor of the Level II Accreditation curriculum and a standing faculty member in teaching the Level II Accreditation and Re-accreditation courses. Academically, Dr. Goldman completed his appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center between 1989-2012. He completed his training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital and Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in 1987 following attainment of his medical degree from Drexel University Hahnemann Medical College in 1984. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and as a member of the Examination Committee, has been granted lifetime certification by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. His publications cover the diagnosis of complex regional pain syndrome, the diagnosis and treatment of myofascial pain, low back pain, and fibromyaligia, as well as various approaches to impairment and disability evaluation. Dr. Goldman's professional mission involves the application of Integral Theory to medical (and especially workers compensation) settings in a manner that optimizes cost effective healing by discerning the subjective perspectives of the doctor and patient while honoring the objective realities of biological diagnosis and employer/social expectations. Along with his training in outpatient neuromuscular and forensic medicine, Dr. Goldman has also been trained in the disciplines of nutrition, exercise physiology, medical acupuncture, four different styles of Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, medical Qi Gong, and various meditation techniques.
