Karen Jamieson Darr, PhD
Dr. Jamie Darr (formally Karen Jamieson Darr, PhD) is a child psychologist who has been in practice for almost 40 years. She specializes in working with families pre- and post-divorce. She taught the court-mandated divorce class and developed the unique Family Divorce Class in Jefferson County attended by parents and children for 20 years and served as a PRE for almost 10 years. Trained as a mediator, Dr. Darr provides parenting plan consultations, serves on collaborative divorce teams, and works as a parenting coach. Dr. Darr accepts court appointments as a Parenting Coordinator and Decision Maker and has frequently been appointed as a Reunification Family Therapist. Dr. Darr developed a model protocol for re-unification therapy in 2012 which has been refined over the years, contributed to the development of a model order for re-unification family therapy (with the Honorable Judge Arkin [ret] and Jane Irvine, LCP) and has co-taught a 20-hour educational and consultation course on reunification therapy. Dr. Darr has provided expert witness testimony on Child Development, Child Therapy, Family Therapy, Reunification Family Therapy and/or Parenting Plans in a number of county district courts in the metro area and Western slope.
