Terri Finney, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated from the University of Denver School of Professional Psychology in 1991 and has been in private practice since that time. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to earning a doctorate degree, she was awarded a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. For the past 25 years she has treated children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including hospitals, residential treatment centers, detention centers, day treatment centers, and on an outpatient basis. Clinical specialty areas include trauma and victimization, divorce and parenting issues, and adolescent issues. She has taught Cognitive Assessment and Clinical Evaluation to doctoral students at the University of Denver, where she also supervises doctoral students in psychotherapy and assessment. She has provided course consultation to Masters degree students at Regis University. She has provided staff training for juvenile treatment and detention facilities. She has published articles professional journals and presented to a wide variety of audiences including the Boulder Interdisciplinary Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, Colorado Police Chiefs Association, Cherry Creek Community Conference, Colorado Family Law Institute. She provides forensic evaluation in a wide variety of areas including: competency to stand trial, child sexual assault, criminal sentencing, personal injury evaluation of emotional damages. Her forensic evaluation expertise is sought by attorneys, judges, and private parties throughput the state of Colorado and in neighboring states.
