Solem, Williams & McKinley PCR. Eric Solem, Esq., founded the firm of Solem Mack & Steinhoff, P.C., now known as Solem Woodward & McKinley, P.C., in 1990. He received his JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School and is licensed in both Wisconsin and Colorado. Eric has practiced before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit Court of appeals and the United States Supreme Court. His current emphasis is in the drafting of special needs trusts and Medicaid and Medicare lien resolution. Eric's successes include numerous elder law cases in the appellate courts and federal and state lower courts. He won the only Colorado State cases establishing restrictions on Medicaid estate recoveries and Medicaid personal injury liens. Eric is a co-founder and past President of the Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities, Inc., has been distinguished as a Colorado "Super Lawyer" for many years, and is a long-time member of National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association.

R. Eric Solem, Esq. is a partner in the Englewood law firm of Solem, Williams & McKinley, P.C. His practice emphasizes elder law, Medicaid, Medicare, probate, and Social Security financial matters. Mr. Solem is a 1974 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison. He is licensed in Wisconsin and Colorado and has practiced before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has argued Medicaid appeals and Social Security appeals before the federal district courts. Mr. Solem is past co-chair of the CBA Elder Law Section and a member of the CBA Trust and Estate Section. He is also a past member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR) and a current member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Colorado Guardianship Alliance. He is a founder and former board member of the Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities, Inc., a (d)(4)(C) trust for which he still acts in an advisory capacity. He has been distinguished as a Colorado “Super Lawyer” in 5280 Magazine and is a frequent lecturer.
