Madeline J. Meacham

Madeline Meacham has practiced law in Colorado since graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1983. She is currently in private practice with Halpern/Meacham, in Boulder Colorado, and represents both local governments and marijuana establishments in connection with compliance with local government regulations.  In the past she has represented Boulder County Commissioners, Sheriffs, District Attorneys, County Clerks, the Departments of Human Services, Community Services, Public Health, Human Resources, and Risk Management in a wide range of negotiations, litigation, administrative proceedings and transactional work.  She has litigated cases that have had a profound impact on local governments, in the areas of comprehensive planning and zoning, governmental immunity, land use authority, and intergovernmental conflict resolution. Her experience includes constitutional and civil rights law, elections law, TABOR, local government finance, ballot initiatives, intergovernmental relations, child protection, juvenile law, mental health law, and confidentiality. She has been a featured speaker at conferences of the Colorado County Attorney Association and the American Bar Association on a wide variety of local government topics.
