Alternate Defense CounselDarren R. Cantor, Esq. has defended the criminally accused since 1986. His initial experience was as a public defender in Colorado. Upon leaving the cocoon of the defenders in 1995, he opened a solo practice and expanded his practice into the area of representing respondents in the attorney regulation process. He has regularly lectured on both ethics and criminal law topics for the past fifteen years, frequently combining the two subjects for presentation, for the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and the Colorado Alternate Defense Counsel, among others. He is also a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver College of Law. He is the 2010 winner of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar's Jonathan Olom Award, for the 'remarkable personal sacrifice made without regards to personal gain in the defense of the accused." He presently serves as a Director of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and a member of its Finance Committee
