Gene Thornton, Esq., specializes in the prevention, investigation, and litigation of employment law claims. He represents both employers and employees in all types of employment matters. Mr. Thornton is the co-author of Employment Termination Source Book: A Collection of Practical Samples, (SHRM 2006). As a freelance writer, Mr. Thornton has authorized well over a dozen articles for SHRM Online, including one on USERRA one on coordinating USERRA-leave with other types of leave. Mr. Thornton has a PHR certification (Professional in Human Resources) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), is a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), and a member of the Employment Law Section of the and Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Springs Society of Human Resources Managers (CSHRRM). His degrees are from Northwestern University (BS Communication Studies 1981) and the University of Denver College of Law (JD 1985).
