Thomas E. Vance

Honorable Thomas E. Vance is a 1981 graduate of the University of Denver Law School. He was in private practice in Golden for 10 years before being appointed as a Jefferson County Magistrate in 1994. Vance presided over a civil docket for much of his time in this role. In 2004 Governor Bill Owens appointed Vance to the Jefferson County Court bench where he has served since. Judge Vance took over the Jefferson County civil judge role in March 2017 after 12+ years in criminal court. He was recognized by the Colorado Judicial Institute in 2018 as the county court judge recipient of their Judicial Excellence Award.
