R.E. Chips Portales, Esq., is a Denver native and sole practitioner and a 1980 graduate of the University Of Denver School Of Law. He is a national published author and poet and has performed with Opera Colorado in “Manon Lescuat” May 1987 5th season and “Carmen” May 1988 6th season. He is the past regional president of the Hispanic National Bar Association and recipient of the 1988 Hispanic National Bar Association Civil Rights Medal Award for “Commitment to the Preservation of Civil and Constitutional Rights for All Americans,” he is  past board member of the non-profit organization The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People. He has presented the Rights of the Elderly Incapacitated or Disabled Person” at the 2nd Annual Elder Law Retreat, August 26-28, 2010 and has been a member of Colorado Bar Association's Ethics Committee for the past 17 years and on July 1, 2005 he was recognized by the American Association for Justice National College of Advocacy as "Advocate." His practice is focused on wrongful death as a result of negligence or abuse of Nursing Home residents.
