David J. Stevens

JAMS
Judge Stevens is a graduate of Michigan State University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is licensed to practice law in both Colorado and Michigan. Judge Stevens was in private practice for over 30 years in complex injury litigation, including medical malpractice, prior to being appointed to the bench by Governor Hickenlooper. He currently presides over a civil docket in Douglas County and previously completed rotations including criminal and domestic relations.  
 
Among his many civic contributions and committee memberships, he serves on the CBA Professionalism Council, the Arapahoe County Bar Association Board of Directors, the Access to Justice Committee for Arapahoe County, the Arapahoe County Justice Coordinating Commission, and the Colorado Bar Foundation Board of Trustees. He is a past president of the Arapahoe County Bar Association and has served on the CBA Board of Governors for over a decade. He enjoys frequent lecturing on litigation-related topics. Judge Stevens graduated from the initial class of the CBA COBALT program.
