Rebecca L. Shandrick is the principal of the Law Offices of Rebecca L. Shandrick, whose offices are in the Cherry Creek area. She graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1982 and served on the board of editors of the University of Colorado Law Review as articles editor and symposium editor. Ms. Shandrick specializes in the field of elder law and special needs law and planning. She has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 1990. She is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA), the Elder Law Forum Committee, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners and Elder Law Answers. Ms. Shandrick taught Estate Administration at Kaplan College (formerly Denver Paralegal Institute). She also has given educational seminars for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, NBI, CLE International, American Association of Ambulatory Care Nurses, and other educational entities. Locally, she has given seminars for CBA-CLE, the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies at the University of Denver, and others. Ms. Shandrick has been published in publications such as The ElderLaw Report. She has been responsible for litigation involving changes in the Medicaid regulations for persons owning small businesses. Ms. Shandrick also practices in the areas of special needs trusts and is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners. She has experience in special needs trusts for personal injury settlements, special needs children, third-party special needs trusts, and SSI benefits and special needs trusts and guardianships for special needs persons reaching age 18 and above.
