Bruce A. Montoya, Esq., manages the Litigation Practice Group and has over thirty years' experience as a trial lawyer. He has participated in more than eighty trials and arbitrations. He has successfully defended numerous complex civil litigation matters, including high-exposure and class-action cases. He also has expertise in providing risk-management advice to corporations. In 2006, Mr. Montoya was elected to the executive committee of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and served as President in 2017. ABOTA is an organization with a primary mission of preserving the constitutional vision of equal justice for all Americans and our civil justice system. A select group of Colorado lawyers are currently ABOTA members. ABOTA is an invitation-only organization consisting of lawyers who have tried a minimum of 20 civil jury trials to conclusion. Recognized as a leader by his peers, Mr. Montoya was inducted into the International Society of Barristers in 2002 and named to the Board of Governors. Only a handful of attorneys throughout the United States are nominated and elected into this national society each year. As a member of the Society, Mr. Montoya joins an exclusive list of preeminent attorneys in the country. He also became a member of the International Society of Defense Counsel in 1997 and has been on the teaching faculty for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) for over ten years. Mr. Montoya is also AV certified with Martindale-Hubbell. This peer review rating attests to a lawyer's legal ability and professional ethics and reflects the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary. This is the highest rating possible for attorneys to achieve with 10 years or more experience. He has maintained this certification for over 20 years.
