John R. Benitez, Esq., represents corporate and entrepreneurial clients in varied facets of business law, commercial real estate transactions, international law, litigation and negotiations. He provides informed counsel in matters of business planning, contracts, recapitalizations, corporate finance, partnership agreements, and complex commercial litigation, including alternative dispute resolution. He also advises clients in Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges and financing arrangements. In the realm of sports and entertainment law, John negotiates contracts on behalf of athletes and owners. John assists clients in defining goals, and then works diligently with them to design and implement negotiations to accomplish those goals. An entrepreneur in his own right, John created and implemented the Integrated Metric, a methodology that focuses on providing legal services from the perspective of return on investment. John's career also has encompassed significant public service. He worked as a professional staff member in both the United States House of Representatives and the Senate. Prior to commencing his legal career, John served as Director of Government Affairs and Manager of Uranium Sales for Rocky Mountain Energy Company and as State Government Affairs Coordinator for Babcock and Wilcox, with oversight responsibility for 23 states. He also has served as counsel to the Colorado Baseball Commission and as a board member and president of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. John also is a professional speaker specializing in negotiation methodologies, strategies, and tactics.
