Honorable Susan D. Phillips is a Prehearing Administrative Law Judge with the Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation. After an eight-year stint in newspapers as a news and copy editor Sue succumbed to the sirens' call of the law. She received a J.D. from the University of Colorado (Boulder) and an MBA from CU (Denver). After graduation Sue embarked on a career in workers' compensation, first as a respondents' attorney and then as a sole practitioner representing injured workers. Sue is co-author of the legal treatise Colorado Workers' Compensation Practice and Procedure (1st and 2nd editions) and Chapter 53 Workers' Compensation Practice in the Colorado Methods of Practice series and author of annual updates for both publications. When off the ALJ time clock, Sue is known to enjoy fine Colorado wine from Plum Creek Cellars, located in Palisade, CO.
