David L. Shakes
4th Judicial District
Honorable David Shakes has served as a District Judge for nineteen years and presided over criminal, civil, juvenile, and domestic relations cases. He has been an adjunct instructor at the National Judicial College, University of Denver Sturm College of Law, the United States Air Force Academy, University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Colorado Technical University, and Colorado State University-Pueblo. In addition to serving as a District Judge, Judge Shakes also served as a military judge and retired as the commander of the military judges of the Army Reserve. Prior to serving as a judge, he practiced civil law and was board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
