Tom Overton, Esq., has been practicing exclusively as a trial attorney for more than 40 years. His practice includes a wide variety of civil litigation. Tom is a Past Chair of the Federal Court Committee on Conduct. He has served as a hearing officer, mediator and expert witness in the Colorado disciplinary system since 1999 when the Colorado Supreme Court instituted the current lawyer regulation system. Tom has given numerous professionalism presentations and participated on professionalism panels for more than 25 years. He often consults with other lawyers on matters of ethics and professionalism. In addition to his work in professionalism, Tom served as president of the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court and before that as president of the Thompson Marsh Inn of Court. He is a past member the Judicial Nominating Commission for Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. Tom is the current president of the Colorado Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. In addition, Tom has served as president of the Denver Children’s Home, has been named as a CASA Hero for Kids and has been active in several community organizations.
