Kevin D. Millard
Kevin D. Millard LLCKevin D. Millard, Esq., graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1975. He was in private law practice for almost 50 years, first in Minnesota and then in Colorado, concentrating on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and serving as an expert witness. Mr. Millard is active in the CBA Trust & Estate section and served as chair of the section in 2004-2005. In 2015, he received the section's R. Sterling Ambler Award, recognizing outstanding contribution to the trust and estate practice in Colorado. Mr. Millard is also active in the America College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He served as ACTEC Colorado state chair in 2006-2011 and as a regent of the college 2012-2018. Mr. Millard was previously a member of the Uniform Law Commission's Joint Editorial Board for Trust and Estate Acts and has been an observer on several ULC drafting committees. He has published numerous articles and spoken at numerous continuing legal education programs. Mr. Millard has taught trust and estate related courses at William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), the University of Minnesota Law School, the University of Denver College of Law, and the University of Colorado Law School. At the end of March, 2022, Mr. Millard retired from the active practice of estate planning and administration. In July 2022, he formed Kevin D. Millard LLC and now limits his work to serving as a consulting or testifying expert on trust and estate issues.
