Mark J. Loewenstein
Colorado LawMark J. Loewenstein is the Monfort Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Colorado Law School. He has been a member of the faculty since 1979 and has served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Research, and currently as Associate Dean for Faculty Development at the law school. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Loewenstein was an associate with Altheimer & Gray in Chicago, Illinois. He has served as a member of the Colorado Securities Board, a CBA delegate to the ABA House of Delegates and has been an active member of the CBA Business Law section, serving for many years as an at-large member of the Business Executive Council. He is the author of numerous articles on various corporate and securities law topics, and is the co-author, with Professor J. Dennis Hynes, of a casebook on the law of agency, partnership and the LLC, a West Nutshell on agency and partnership law and several related publications. He is also a co-author (with Branson, Heminway, Steinberg and Warren) of Business Enterprises: Legal Structures, Governance, and Policy (LexisNexis), now in its second edition. He was a Fulbright scholar in Sapporo, Japan in 1990-91 and a visiting professor at the University of Michigan law school in 1999.
