Susan Fox earned her law degree at the University of Texas and a master's degree in bioethics at the University of Leuven in Belgium. Ms. Fox was actively involved in the development of the Colorado Patient Autonomy Act and in the implementation of medical advance directives in Colorado. Her private practice concentrates on end-of-life health-care planning, personalized “trail map” directives, unique health-care situations involving disabled persons, and protective proceedings. She has worked extensively with physicians, chaplains, ethics committees, and nonprofit organizations in the Denver area on numerous end-of-life matters and on projects and policies involving patients' rights, do-not-resuscitate orders, advance directives, and related issues. She has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Denver College of Law, and as an instructor in bioethics at Regis University.
