Program Description
Dear Colleague,
As Program Chair, I want to invite you to participate in this year's Trust and Estate Fall Update. This year, two new uniform laws were adopted in Colorado and dramatic changes were made to the cost and compensation laws for fiduciaries. Please join us for this informative seminar to learn more about the legislative changes and to understand how these changes will affect your practice and your clients.
During this one day program, you will hear from the experts who helped shape the draft bills and shepherded them through the legislative process. These speakers will explain the substantive changes, as well as how those changes will likely affect your clients. You will also hear a reprise of choice issues from this year's Estate Planning Retreat, and discover some new and challenging topics:
- Where is Estate Planning Going as a Practice Area? A Look Ahead
- An Advanced Course in the Power of Charitable Trusts
- Uniform Estate Tax Apportionment Act
- Tests for Capacity: Standards of Mental Capacity Applied in a Variety of Contexts
- Uniform Disclaimer of Property Interests Act
- Balancing Ethical and Malpractice Issues
Whether you're new to the trust and estate area, or are an experienced practitioner, this program will be well worth your investment.
I look forward to seeing you in November.
