Non-traditional families must take extra precautions when creating an estate plan. In many instances, the government does not provide equal rights to LGBT individuals and couples. It is therefore essential to take steps to protect you're your clients by having a thorough estate plan. After this session, you will understand how Colorado's new Designated Beneficiary Agreement works. You'll be able to ensure that your clients' assets go to the people that they choose, and protect your clients' rights to designate who they would like to make medical decisions. You will also learn what you need to know on second parent adoptions.
