The Lawyer as Employer: Employment and Benefit Considerations for Small Firms

The first program of "Small Firms, Big Success: A business-focused series for client-focused lawyers"

CONGRATULATIONS!

The small firm you built with dedication and long hours has grown enough that you can't possibly continue to handle all the work on your own. Maybe you need an assistant. Maybe you need someone to crunch numbers. Maybe you're even ready for an associate.

If you're like many lawyers, excitement about your growing firm is tempered by the uncertainty that comes with adding employees.

FEAR NOT.

In this program, Greg Peterson and Ned Frazier have distilled decades of experience working with employers and benefits into four key areas that will empower you, the lawyer, to be a responsible employer.

1. Oh, no! I've never hired anyone ... What to do?
2. My new hire needs benefits and insurance ... What should I offer?
3. Day One: New hire orientation ... calm or chaos?
4. Outsourcing for the Soloprenuer ... You just can't do everything!
