Technology is changing quite fast and each advancement brings new ethical complications. Trends like social networking, cloud computing, and smartphones have made the practice easier, but they're also creating ethical headaches.
Social networking is all the rage and attorneys are using this platform for both personal and business use. There are significant ethical dangers, however, when using the medium and attorneys need to be aware of the hidden pitfalls. In this seminar, Mr. Teicher reveals the ethical dangers that attorneys face and the professionalism concerns that lurk in the background. Included in the discussion are the impact of ethics opinions from various jurisdictions, concerns with the latest trends such as “locator” platforms and the ethical problems raised by related technology such as cloud computing

Faculty:
Stuart I. Teicher, Esq., is an attorney and a professional legal educator. Mr. Teicher teaches Ethics and Critical Lawyering Skills to attorneys throughout the country for continuing legal education providers and also conducts training seminars in law firms. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Rutgers School of Law in Camden, NJ where he teaches Professional Responsibility and for Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he teaches writing to undergraduates and other professionals.
Stuart has been a practicing attorney for 15 years and his practice focuses on advising lawyers and law firms about ethics issues and defending lawyers who face ethics grievances or other disciplinary matters (in NY & PA only). Mr. Teicher was trained as a civil mediator by the State of New Jersey, Office of Dispute Resolution. He is a qualified mediator on both the roster of Civil Mediators and roster of Foreclosure Mediators for the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Teicher has received various governmental appointments including serving as Municipal Prosecutor, Public Defender, Guardianship Counsel and Lead Condemnation Commissioner. He was also appointed to the District VIII Ethics Committee by the New Jersey Supreme Court and he is currently serving a four-year term. He is a member of the bar in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
